الحاضر البسيط : Simple Present

1- The simple present expresses general statements of fact
نستعمل الحاضر البسيط للتعبير عن حقائق علمية مثال :
The world is round
The earth goes round the sun

كما نستعمله أيضا" في الأقوال المأثورة ( proverbs ) :
A bird in hand is worth two on the bush

2- The simple present is used to express habitual or everyday activitiesنستعمل الحاضر البسيط للتعبير عن عادة أو عمل متكرر ويغلب استعمال الظروف :
always , often , sometimes , generally , rarely , every day ........etc
He always sings in the bath
I study for two hours every night

3- نستعمل هذا الزمن أيضا" مع أفعال الحس أو ما يسمى بال Perception Verbs ومن هذه الأفعال:يعتقد : believe , يعتني : care , يحس : feel , ينسى : forget , يكره : hate , يسمع : hear
يحب : love , يعرف : know , يفترض : suppose , يشم : smell , يبدو : seem
يرى : seem , يذوق : taste , يفهم : understand , يريد : want , يتمنى : wish
